You might not have heard of the site or Ashley but you will do shortly when she appears on " The View " along side good ol Barbara Walters.
Ashley runs a website at whateverlife.com a site that provides site building tools, magazine and free myspace layouts to teenage girls. She currently gets millions of visitors per month and was featured in an article on fastcompany.com
She is only 17 years old and is based in Detroit, using the power of social networks, myspace and affiliate marketing she has shown the power of focusing on a niche market and intergrating click and action based advertising.
She apparently gets more people viewing her site than magazines like Seventeen, Teen Vogue and Cosmo Girl, this is quite a feat! And really shows you the power of the Internet… there is room for everyone.
Ashley is evidence of the meritocracy on the Internet that allows even companies run by neophyte entrepreneurs to compete, regardless of funding, location, size, or experience–and she’s a reminder that ingenuity is ageless.
She has taken in more than $1 million, thanks to a now-familiar Web-friendly business model. Her MySpace page layouts are available for the bargain price of…nothing. They’re free for the taking. Her only significant source of revenue so far is advertising.

- Creating Online Communities - It’s all about getting repeat traffic and having a loyal readership, not just a 20 page flash in the pan website and on you go, learn to incorporate social networks, myspace, facebook, forums, digg, technorati, youtube and other social networks.
- Variation - Intergrate and try out new networks like casale media, value click and others dont just hunker down with cj.com, linkshare and clickbank.
- Create niches within a larger niche, having your main site has the hub of the topic such as Technology and smaller sites around that cell phones, ipods, laptops etc.
