4hourReview of The 4 Hour Work Week by Timothy Ferriss

I had planned a long while back to get around to buying this book and well I had to take my car in for an oil change and so I thought I would pick it up and have a read while I waited.

Having been working online for the past 4 years, I have outsourced a lot of tasks that essentially I could do, so instead of paying an employee a set amount of money to work for me, I just call on programmers and designers as and when I need them

But I have to say.. this guy has pushed the envelope on what can be done through outsourcing.

What an amazing book. The guy is literally Spot on! He is only like 28 or 29 years old but his understanding of working smart vs working hard is so clear

There are 16 Chapters in the book yet its broken up into sections meaning there is around 3 or 4 chapters per section

Section 1 is " D is for Definition "
Section 2 is " E is for Elimination "
Section 3 is " A is for Automation "
Section 4 is " L is for Liberation "

Its one of those books where pretty much every page you read, you are getting something out of it, he cuts through the fluff and takes you into his life and discusses a type of people he called " NR " the New Rich!

A people who think and take action differently than the regular guy who works 9-5

There were 2 things which I really thought was excellent

1. Most people dont know what they want, instead ask youself what excites you? - I found this really helps you dwindle down what it is you really want, as sometimes you might think you want something but when you get it, you discover it doesn’t excite you at all. While there are other things you have never done before that once you do them you find out that they totally excite you.

2. Dreamlining - He gets you to write down your 6 month and 12 month dreams for Having, Being and Doing….. To Kick this off he asks " What would you do if you knew there was no way you could fail?,

Now on top of the book, on his website at www.the4hourworkweek.com he provides forms, calculators and bonus 5 chapters that were not in the book, plus 5 pdfs on other subjects and a ton of resources..

It really was an enjoyable read, and well worth buying, you can pick it up at your local chapters for $24.99 or on Amazon for $11.97
